What do we wear?
When you book your family photography session I will send you out a guide that helps you assess the colour scheme in your house and match it with suitable clothing colours that will look cohesive and complimentary to your home when you hang your beautiful family portraits on the wall.
If you get stuck you are more than welcome to send me photos of the outfits you’re thinking about using and I will help you choose.
How should we get ready?
In the week or two leading up I suggest getting hair cuts or trims to make sure you’re looking and feeling fresh, all the clothes in order the night before and on the day make sure everyone is fed, watered and napped (partners included) before you meet me. Once you’re at the session you can then relax, have some fun and let me handle the child/partner/pet wrangling!
Do I need to bring anything to our session?
You only have to bring yourselves, smiles and be ready for some laughter. If you are bringing your fur baby, bringing their favourite squeaky toy to get their attention would be great.
Do we have to tell you what products we want before our session?
Not at all. I will talk to you about some of the optional photography products I offer, but when we have your reveal, I will bring my samples so that you can see them in person and figure out what would suit your home best.
How many images can we expect from our session?
Although I will take many photos during your family photography session, I usually show between 30 and 40 images at your reveal session. I promise I won’t leave any out that I think you will love. These will be the best of the best, including some bloopers as well.
I’m pretty awkward in front of the camera, I’m worried I won’t like how I look.
My style is a mix of traditional and candid photography. So I will give you a few tips on posing to make sure you look your best but mostly you’ll be laughing and playing with your family and almost forget I’m there (which makes for the most genuine smiley photos!)
What if it’s raining on the day of our session?
If the weather is not playing nicely, there are a few undercover spots around Canberra we can go to, but I am happy to reschedule our session so that we get some beautiful golden light.
How long will the session last?
A family photo session with me usually lasts up to an hour. I usually meet clients 10-15 minutes before their session so we can say hi, meet the family and fur babies and ease everyone into the session.
Can we bring our dog to the session?
Yes of course! Fur babies are a special part of the family and I find everyone relaxes a little bit more when they’re paying attention to them instead of me. I am also happy to organise a puppy wrangler to hold your fur baby while we do photos with just the human side of the family. Just let me know in advance!
Can we reschedule if someone is sick on the day of our session?
Yes, of course you can. Please tell me as early as possible as you may have to wait a week or two for a reschedule date.
How do we see our photographs?
Your photographs are delivered via a secure online gallery. This is where you get to pick your images and choose some beautiful printed products.
What kind of products do you offer?
I have a range of beautiful, Australian made products including folio boxes, canvases, framed and unframed prints and albums. The gallery store gives you sample images of what I offer but you can see what I offer here.
Can we buy digital files from you?
You certainly can! My packages all come with digital files.
How do we invest in products?
Before your session you choose a package that suits you, then if you decide you’d like to purchase more products, the gallery store is simple and easy to navigate and pick images from your gallery that you’d like products of.
Clients usually invest between $900 and $3000 on their portrait experience.
When will we receive our purchased images from you?
Please allow 4-6 weeks for your order to be completed. Your portraits are an investment and an heirloom that should not be rushed.
I will call or email you when your product order is ready to pick up. You will need to sign for your order on delivery.
